EMRE AKAY

Darlingo is created and owned by seasoned filmmaker Emre Akay who brings more than 20 years of professional experience spanning a wide spectrum in filmmaking. Professionally established as a writer/director/producer, Akay is also an editor and consultant. He has directed projects in various formats ranging from shorts to features, documentaries and fictions, music videos and TV commercials.
Akay is perfectly fluent in Turkish, English, French, and has a basic knowledge of Spanish and Italian. He is currently developing a mini-series set during the Cold War and another series which is a psychedelic thriller set in the afterlife.
His latest feature fiction, “AV: The Hunt”, a social thriller about "honour" killings in Turkey has gained wide, international acclaim, including a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is out on Netflix since April 2022.
On a more personal note, Mr. Akay plays the drums and guitars, is a tennis aficionado, and an amateur cook.
